This Sunday, the praise team rolled…and rocked the House with this number!
Then, Pastor Gilmore delivered a captivating sermon on the intriguing topic of “Time Is”
Time, and its relationship with the concept of ‘time-flying’. This thought-provoking question urges us to consider how we are utilizing our time.
Sermon excerpt from Reverend Andrew W. Gilmore, “Jesus Is the Light.”
MICAH 6: 1-8 “WHAT GOD REQUIRES OF MAN”: Sermon notes (c) Reverend Andrew W. Gilmore, circa 1975
Introduction: In every facet of life….
…has its requirements:
Schools
Our jobs
To vote
Homes – husbands & wives
Church –
Although we like to be free, many join to expect…
God has a right to expect certain requirements of us, His creation, His creations.
What does the Lord require of man?
Micah was a prophet. Now a prophet is one sent from
God with a message from God.
He comes forth with a message. He is not a fortune-teller.
He is teller of the past, future, *[…] present.
Micah, an 8th Century prophet, he prophesied in his day. Judah, like Israel, was *[…] guilty.
- God questioned man…
- Man questioned God…
- God has the answer to every question…
Do justly,
Love mercy,
Walk humbly with God…

Because He has done so much for me…
I didn’t deserve…
WALK *[…] = I LIVE.
He died for me, He died in my stead. NOW I live in God.
He died on my behalf.
There is a difference.
A little poor boy stole lunches in the classroom. His classmates set a trap to catch the little boy.
They voted on his punishment: a beating!
But another big boy took his place.
But … this did not help the little poor boy. He kept on stealing lunches. You see, he was hungry and needed food.
When Jesus died, it was not ‘in our place.’ It was FOR US, and on our behalf.
In every facet of life there are requirements to be met. Little children I write unto you…sin not. And if any man sin…we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ.
