Once and for all, decide that the decisions you make will be independent of what others think. What difference does it make what “they” think?

**Be sure that you can approve of yourself.**

There is so much hate, and sorrow, and natural disasters that wipe out entire towns…babies dying, hungry children, distraught mothers, persecuted fathers, neglected animals…the list of horrible things in our world is long and ugly.

The thoughts in my mind begin in my heart.

  • My heart is broken. Am I angry? Just sad, not angry? No, I Am angry.
  • But my heart still holds compassion, understanding, a feeling for others..
  • A feeling that I still care what happens to you. That’s the difference.

When I examine the anatomy of the human eye, the change of day to night, the burning feeling inside of me when I think about someone I love, the growth process of a seed into a blooming plant, aquatic life in the oceans…Who is doing this?

Why does the sun rise? Where do the planets come from? How does that baby form inside Mommy’s tummy?

What about my emotions? Where do these feelings come from?

When all else fails, talk to God.

And whether or not others trust me, or like me, or think I make the right-decisions, I believe that God hears me when I pray, and answers me, because my decisions feel God and I get “relief ” results when “we talk!” And… Yes, I trust that feeling!

I don’t remember when I started to feel better, or when the anger started to wane. But I know that it did wane, and taking the time to breathe, to get away for awhile, to think, to decide to pray…made a huge difference in my life, and now…I’m healing.

Our bodies will grow old and eventually decay. But the feelings never die. You may forget what I did or said, but you won’t forget how I made you feel.

According to the Sleep Foundation, the flow of the music through the air calms parts of your ‘autonomic nervous system.’ What happens next is the amazing thing about the human body!

  • Your breathing slows,
  • your heart rate goes down, and
  • even your blood pressure regulates.

So the next time you’re struggling through the late hours to relax or to fall asleep, try listening the flow of calming music!

I play smooth jazz from Pandora as I work. It really helps to create a feeling of peace and tranquility in the office!
